National Geographic Honors Colorado Teacher

Kathryn Zimmann, from Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, has been selected as one of only 25 teachers to be granted a Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship.  She will also be invited to participate on one of their Lindblad Expeditions.

According to The Gazette (Colorado Springs, CO), the fellows will travel to exotic locations all over the world, including Arctic Svalbard, Iceland, Greenland, and Antarctica.

The Grosvenor Teacher Fellow Program is designed to give K-12 teachers the “opportunity to feed their curiosity about the world”.  The program started in 2007 and, so far, has given about 50 teachers the chance to bring first-hand geographic knowledge back to their classrooms.
